THE MAN – Bill Seavey was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He often quips, “I got to Texas as quickly as I could”. However, there were a few interruptions before he arrived in Houston, Texas in 1960. Born out of wedlock along with a brother and sister, he was abandoned and became a ward of the state. Shortly thereafter, and only a few weeks old, he was taken in by the Seavey family of Bath, Maine, adopted at age three, and lived with them in Bath until seventeen years of age at which time he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp where he served for five years, two of which were in Europe. At age sixteen, however, there was to be another “life interruption”. While trying to enter the military prior to his seventeenth birthday, he discovered that he had been adopted and that Aunt Florence, who lived only five miles away, was his biological Mother. Three months later, he enlisted in the military with few facts available. He never found out who his biological Dad was. But the story is much to long for this brief introduction and so we must leave the rest of it for a later time.
The journey has been very long and very complex. Through many failed relationships, bouts with alcoholism, and never knowing the love of a caring Mother, Bill finally surrendered all and became a born again Christian in April of 1976 where he surrendered to preach the Gospel and was ordained as a Baptist Minister. Later, leaving the denominational church, he was to experience God in a way known only by a few. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit. He was ‘ousted’ by the denominational church and became a member of Coral Ridge Ministries of Houston. He was ordained a second time and began his own ministry, Discovery Ministries. But God had other plans. Again, failure loomed in Bill’s pathway and everything went down the proverbial tubes. Later, it was prophesied to Bill that God was going to resurrect his ministry and that he would be Manna to the multitudes. Signs and wonders would follow. Dr. Seavey formed Bill Seavey Ministries International (BSMI) and is indeed, Manna to the multitudes. As a successful author, teacher, and motivator, Bill’s messages of hope circle the globe. In short, he teaches people how to get out of the ditches of life and become the Winner God created them to be. Bill says, “There is no sense in living in a ditch when you can live in a Castle”.
THE MISSION – It is to enable people to a quality of lifestyle, such that, it will make a difference and have an impact worldwide.
I must be all that I was created to be both for my fellow man and my country. I must be all I can possibly be by doing my absolute best every day of my life with what I have been given to work with. Life is too short to do otherwise. My mission is to live with integrity and to make a difference in the lives of others. To fulfill this mission, I must have charity, seek out, and love everyone regardless of his or her situation. I must sacrifice. I devote my time, talents and resources to my mission, always putting others first. I will always be at the service of people not a user of people. I must inspire those I meet. I will teach by example that we are all the creation of a loving Heavenly Father and that every Goliath can be overcome. I will make an impact. What I do must make a difference in the lives of others.
These following rolls take priority in achieving my mission.
· A Dad – I help my children experience progressively greater joy in their lives everyday.
· Loving God – He can count on me to keep his covenants and to serve His other children.
· A Change Agent – I am a catalyst for developing high performance in people. I build Champions!
· Scholar – I learn important new things every day of my life.
THE MINISTRY – Bill Seavey Ministries International (BSMI) has but one goal. It is to get people out of the ditches by teaching them whose they are, not whom they think they are. Most people think themselves failures but God created no failures. Successful people do not live in ditches. Life in a ditch, whatever that means to you, is not for a Child of God. You cannot climb to the heights of any mountain while living in a ditch. No human being should live in a ditch, but unfortunately, most of the church does. We are to be successful in every sense of the word. God wants more for you and so do I. If you are in a ditch right now, learn well from it but do get out ASAP. Once out, we’ll head for the top together. There is no telling how high you can climb with a little push in the right direction. How tall should a tree grow? How high should an Eagle fly? As high as it wants to and you, my friend, are an Eagle. Get up and get moving. Eagles fly – they do not sit on the ground. Know this - You are a Winner! Now let’s go climb some mountains!
